You will I hope excuse me for suggesting, that your unique, and
highly valuable collection should not be exposed to the risk of
destruction by fire; but should if possible be placed in a
fireproof room. If damaged, or destroyed, it would be an
irreparable public calamity, and loss to science and history,
irrespective of the time, trouble, and expense incurred by you
peronally, in making such a valuable permanent record of the
past.
